KARACHI *Kashmir English): Auto financing has increased by 35.2% in July 2026 compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the latest data from the State Bank of Pakistan.
According to the data, the volume of auto financing in July 2025 was Rs 286 billion, which increased to Rs 386 billion in July 2026, while a 1.2% increase was recorded on a monthly basis compared to June 2026.
The major reasons for the increase in auto financing are attributed to the increase in loan provision by banks, the increasing demand for auto loans, and the overall increase in private sector loans.
According to the State Bank, private sector loans reached Rs 10.9 trillion in July 2026 after an increase of 15%.
Experts say that the record increase in auto financing is a positive sign for the auto industry, but it cannot be considered direct evidence of a corresponding increase in vehicle sales.
