NEW YORK (Kashmir English): United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif a “terrific man” during his address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) as he once again mentioned his role in ending the Pakistan-India conflict in May 2025.
During his speech at the opening session of the 81st UNGA, Trump said the Pakistani premier credited him with saving 30 million lives and probably many more than that.
The address came when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was present in the General Assembly Hall alongside the Pakistani delegation. During the session, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Trump addressed world leaders.
In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said PM Sharif would hold bilateral meetings with world leaders and the UN Secretary-General on the sidelines of the session.
After the meeting, the premier will hold bilateral meetings with various world leaders, the PMO stated. Shehbaz is scheduled to address the UNGA on Sept 25.
