ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) on Tuesday announced the closure of sections of key motorways and national highways from tomorrow evening, September 23, until further notice.
As per the traffic advisory, the M-1 Motorway (Islamabad to Peshawar) from Islamabad Toll Plaza to Chach and the M-14 Motorway from Hakla to Kundal will remain closed to all types of traffic.
Moreover, GT Road (N-5) at Attock Khurd will also be shut down in both directions, it stated.
The NHMP advised motorists to check the official social media account of the police or contact the toll-free helpline 130 for the latest traffic situation and travel information before starting your journey.

Earlier, in a statement, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) also advised commuters to avoid traveling on Peshawar Motorway (M-1) from the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi from 11:00 pm on Wednesday.
“Motorists were advised to plan their journeys in accordance with the traffic advisory and strictly follow the directions issued by traffic police,” the traffic advisory stated.
It further said that the M-2 (Islamabad-Lahore Motorway) would remain open to all types of traffic. ITP urged passengers to travel according to the traffic advisory and ensure that they follow the instructions of the traffic police.
