MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has stated that all issues faced by teachers will be resolved on a priority basis, and the government is taking serious steps in this regard.

“In the current government, teachers will not need to take to the streets to have their legitimate demands met; instead, the government itself will sit with the teachers and resolve their issues.”

Addressing a convention organized by the School Teachers Organization titled “Teacher: As an Intellectual and Ideological Protector,” Prime Minister Faisal Rathore said that education and health sectors are the top priorities of every government because these sectors guarantee rapid progress in any society.

In view of the demands of the modern era, a heavy responsibility rests on teachers to prepare the new generation according to modern requirements, the PM said.

“Eliminating the economic difficulties of teachers and making the teaching process effective are among the priorities of the current government.”

The Prime Minister said that teachers are a means of societal reform and builders of the nation, so the role of teachers in society can never be ignored. “In Islam, too, teachers hold a very high position, and Islam emphasizes the sanctity of teachers.”

The PM said that the government is well aware of the economic difficulties of teachers, but, he added, it is necessary to pay attention to duties as well. “The teacher who works diligently and sincerely is also supported by the public.”

The Prime Minister said that he has always rejected retaliatory transfers. “This is the era of digital technology; public awareness and understanding have increased, so we all need to emphasize self-accountability.”

The Prime Minister said that direct conversation with teachers was his long-cherished desire, and he felt happy to be among the teachers on this occasion.

“Teachers should also cooperate with the government”

He said that teachers should cooperate with the government and play a full role in the construction and development of the state, while the government will continue to take effective measures to solve the problems of teachers.

Senior Minister Mian Abdul Waheed, in his address, said that teachers are the true ambassadors of the state on the intellectual and ideological front, and their role is fundamental in shaping the intellectual direction of the nation and training the new generation.
