MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In the second phase of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections, seven new faces, including a woman, have successfully reached the House.
Two candidates from Muzaffarabad division while seven new people succeeded in winning the refugees seats.
From LA 29 Muzaffarabad City, Pakistan Peoples’ Party candidate Sardar Mukhtar Ahmed succeeded in reaching the Legislative Assembly for the first time by defeating former government minister Barrister Iftikhar Gillani.
From LA 31 Khawra Muzaffarabad, Muslim League (N) candidate Saqib Majeed Raja holds a heavy lead against the acting state president. It is expected that he will secure the seat from the constituency and succeed in reaching the Assembly for the first time.
From LA 36 Jammu 3, Muslim League (N) Muhammad Ahsan Raza and from LA 37 Jammu 4, Muslim League (N) candidate Maryam Javed have also succeeded in reaching the Assembly for the first time.
From LA 38 Jammu 5, PML-N Zeeshan Ali, and from LA 41 Kashmir Valley 2, Muslim League (N) Muhammad Aamir Shah have also made their entry into the Legislative Assembly for the first time.
From LA 43 Kashmir Valley 4, Muslim League (N) Muhammad Yasin Loun, who defeated former transport minister Javed Butt and Muslim Conference Mehr-un-Nisa, has also reached the Assembly for the first time.
First phase of AJK elections
In the first phase of the elections, five new faces were also elected as members of the Legislative Assembly, including Raja Muhammad Riyasat Khan from Charhoi, Sardar Umair Naeem from Nakyal, Raja Asif from Sehnsa, Raja Ayaz Nisar from Khoiratta, and Chaudhry Muhammad Razzaq from Samahni.
