MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The third round of talks between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was held today in Muzaffarabad to reduce political tension over the election in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
As per details, both parties presented evidence concerning alleged rigging in the first phase of the elections in Mirpur division.
The PPP had earlier presented its evidence concerning alleged rigging in the first phase of the elections to the PML-N delegation.
During the third round, the PML-N also presented evidence of alleged electoral irregularities involving its candidates in several constituencies, including Kotli, sources said.
As per the sources, the PPP delegation said it will consult its leadership regarding the evidence presented by the PML-N.
Sources said the two sides continued consultations aimed at reducing political tensions, resolving electoral objections and reaching a possible consensus on the future political course in AJK.
According to the sources, the PML-N delegation included Federal Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Engineer Amir Muqam, Tariq Farooq and other senior leaders, while the PPP delegation comprised Qamar Zaman Kaira, Prime Minister of AJK Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Syed Nayyar Bukhari, Humayun Khan and other party leaders.
Yesterday, federal ministers had held separate meetings with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the senior leadership of the PPP. Sources
