KARACHI (Kashmir English): A security guard was killed in Gulshan-e-Hadeed area of Malir here after reportedly being hit by a bullet fired from his own weapon while recording a TikTok video, police said.
The deceased was later identified as 35-year-old Nawaz, son of Haq Nawaz.
According to a statement issued by the Karachi Police spokesperson, the security guard was reportedly filming a TikTok video when his firearm discharged, killing him on the spot.
Purported TikTok video and CCTV footage
Police said a purported TikTok video and CCTV footage, surfaced after the incident, showed the guard holding a weapon shortly before the fatal shot.
However, authorities added that it was not yet established whether the incident was accidental or a case of suicide.
According to Steel Town SHO, Aslam, the matter was being investigated from all angles to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy as police said the cause of the incident would be determined after the completion of the investigation.
