SBP announces ‘Bank holiday’ on July 1

KARACHI (Kashmir English): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced a “bank holiday” on July 1, the first day of the fiscal year, across the country.

According to the circular, “The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed for public dealings on Wednesday, July 01, 2026, which will be observed as Bank Holiday”.

The announcement clarified that all banks, development finance institutions, and microfinance banks shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealings on the aforementioned date.

However, all employees of all banks, DFIs, and MFBs will attend their offices as usual and carry out internal office affairs.

The State Bank has directed customers to plan their banking needs and financial transactions, keeping in mind the said holiday.
