MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Acting on the directives of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Rathore, internet services have been restored for commercial banks, the Finance Department, the State Bank, and the Accountant General (AG) Office to minimize public inconvenience and ensure the smooth continuation of essential financial operations.
According to sources, the decision was taken in light of the prevailing situation and concerns over possible disruptions to government payments and financial transactions. Relevant institutions were instructed to immediately provide the necessary connectivity to restore online communication among key financial entities.
With the restoration of internet facilities, the process of disbursing salaries, pensions, and other government payments is expected to continue without interruption.
Officials said the move would help ensure the timely payment of salaries to government employees, pensions to retirees, and the smooth functioning of the financial system, while reducing difficulties faced by the public during the ongoing situation.
The development is being viewed as a significant step by the AJK government to maintain the continuity of essential public services and safeguard financial stability.
