RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Pakistan T20I captain Sahibzada Farhan has set a new record for the most runs scored in a three-match T20I series between two Full Member nations, surpassing India’s Abhishek Sharma.

Farhan achieved the milestone during the third and final T20I against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. He scored 238 runs across the series at an average of 79.33 and a strike rate of 165.27, earning the Player of the Series award.

The Pakistani batter surpassed Abhishek Sharma’s previous record of 229 runs, which the Indian opener scored in a three-match home T20I series against Afghanistan earlier this year.

Farhan made his first home series as Pakistan’s permanent T20I captain memorable by scoring a half-century in each of the three matches. He opened the series with a match-winning 89 off 53 balls, helping Pakistan chase down Sri Lanka’s target of 183 runs and secure a four-wicket victory.

He continued his impressive form in the second match, scoring 73 off 44 balls as Pakistan posted 215 for three. Sri Lanka managed only 133 for seven, giving Pakistan a commanding lead in the series.

In the final match, Farhan struck 76 off 47 balls to help Pakistan post 168 runs. However, his innings could not prevent a defeat, as Sri Lanka chased down the target with the loss of just two wickets.

Despite losing the final match, Pakistan won the three-match series 2-1, while Farhan finished as the leading run-scorer and Player of the Series.
