RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s experienced opener Fakhar Zaman made history during the third T20 match against Sri Lanka by reaching the milestone of 100 sixes; he became the first Pakistani batter to hit 100 sixes in T20 International cricket.
Fakhar Zaman needed just one more six to reach the 100-six milestone during the series’ third and final match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
He achieved this feat by hitting a magnificent six over deep mid-wicket off a delivery from Sri Lankan left-arm fast bowler Fernando.
The 36-year-old Fakhar Zaman made his T20 International debut for Pakistan in 2017. He completed his tally of 100 sixes across 113 innings.
Fakhar Zaman has now moved to the top of the list of Pakistani batters with the most sixes in T20 Internationals, while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan holds the second spot with 95 sixes.
Captain Sahibzada Farhan has moved into third place with 81 sixes, surpassing former captain Babar Azam, who has hit 80 sixes. Mohammad Hafeez sits in fifth place with 76 sixes.
However, after reaching this milestone, Fakhar Zaman could not play a substantial innings and was dismissed off a delivery by Ishan Malinga; he scored 12 runs off 7 balls.
