ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced its disassociation from what it called ongoing political game in Azad Kashmir, saying they stand with the people.

The Imran-founded party also demanded new elections in the region without any delay.

Addressing a press conference along with PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja here Tuesday, former AJK Prime Minister Abdul Qayyum Khan Niazi said they have nothing to do with the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister by the opposition alliance in Azad Kashmir and the election process for a new Prime Minister.

The meeting of PTI’s top leadership was held at Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa House and attended by the former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir and the leadership.

In the meeting, PTI decided to disassociate itself from the no-confidence motion and the process of electing a new Prime Minister, and announced to continue representing public in the assembly and give a tough time to the new government.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said that a political game is currently being played in Azad Kashmir.

He said that even before this, attempts were made to establish an artificial system in Kashmir.

“Earlier, our 29 MNAs were forced to defect, and our members were declared independent even before.”

“PTI was not registered as a party in Kashmir”

Salman Akram Raja said that PTI was not registered as a party in Kashmir. The faces behind this system are the same powerful ones who are behind everything, he added.

In Kashmir, the people appear to be on one side and the state on the other. A chasm of lies has been created between the state and the people. A war of truth and deception is going on in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, he lamented.

The PTI leader said that they will stand in the court of the people and continue to fulfill their right to representation.

“This is not a political change but a game being played. PML-N and other parties are engaged in the game of power.”

He said that PTI will remain among the people and stay away from those who deceive, while members in the Azad Kashmir Assembly will continue to raise their voices for truth.

Salman Akram Raja said that the reality is that Imran Khan still lives in the hearts of the people today. “Imran Khan and PTI’s soldiers are part of the people’s struggle. Removing one face and replacing it with another is not a political victory.”

Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Farooq Ahmed said that while they may have differences with the government of Pakistan, they and their hearts beat for the state of Pakistan adding in the upcoming elections, PTI will show the same performance it showed in 2021.

He said that the entire party stands with the founding chairman. “As opposition leader, I say that this assembly has lost its significance. An impartial election commission should be formed immediately, and general elections should be held.”

He said the others want to appoint a Sikandar Sultan Raja of their choice there rig the elections.

Former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Qayyum Niazi said that a hybrid system has been introduced in Azad Kashmir.

The people protested strongly and had their demands met. PTI has been at the forefront of ending the hybrid system in Azad Kashmir, he added.

He said that in the event of Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq’s failure, an attempt is being made to bring back the old, worn-out system. “We will remain disassociated from this entire process and an independent election commission should be established immediately in Azad Kashmir.”
