PTI sets condition for attending govt meeting on regional situation

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has set a major condition for attending the meeting called by the government to discuss regional situation.

The condition was laid in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf political committee meeting held here Tuesday.

According to a party statement, Tehreek-e-Insaf has asked the government to ensure that Imran Khan’s family and lawyers meet him in jail and that he is shifted to hospital for eye treatment. Otherwise, they would not attend the meeting called by the government.

PTI said that they will not attend the government meeting until a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan takes place. The invitation will only be accepted if the demand for a meeting is met.

The statement said that Tehreek-e-Insaf demands the supremacy of judicial orders, and that all constitutional rights of the PTI founder should be ensured.

A meeting between the PTI founder and his family and lawyers should be arranged without delay, and he should be immediately transferred to Shifa International Hospital, the party demanded.

PTI for shifting Imran to hospital

PTI said that Imran Khan’s treatment should be ensured in the presence of his personal physicians and family.

In the statement, the political committee expressed concern over the tense situation with Afghanistan and condemned the Israeli and American aggression and massacre against Iran.

The PTI said that action against Iran is pushing the world towards further chaos and that Iran and the Gulf states should show extreme responsibility and restraint, America and Israel should immediately stop illegal aggression and provocative actions.

It is to be noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to take the opposition and political leadership into confidence on the evolving regional situation.

According to sources, the Prime Minister will brief the leaders of the opposition in both houses and parliamentary leaders. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also invited opposition leaders to the Prime Minister’s House.

According to sources, a briefing will be given on Pakistan’s foreign policy in the wake of the Middle East, and the US attack on Iran.
