MALAKAND (Kashmir English): Hundreds of people took to the streets in Dargai on Tuesday, protesting against inflation, unemployment, load-shedding and the prevailing law-and-order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while also voicing opposition to the PTI-led provincial government.
The protest walk and rally were organized by the United Trade Union Dargai and Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Malakand, with around 600 to 650 participants joining the demonstration.
The protesters burned tires and chanted slogans against the PTI government, accusing the provincial administration of failing to address key public concerns, including inflation, unemployment, electricity shortages and the deteriorating security situation.
They demanded peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Malakand, while stressing that inflation and prolonged load-shedding were unacceptable.
The demonstrators also urged the provincial government to give greater attention to health and education instead of political activities.
United Trade Union Dargai President Asfandyar Khan, General Secretary Ghulam Hussain, Provincial Transport Union President Fazal Jameel and Dargai Press Club President Zahir Shah were among those participating in the rally.
