ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has said that the Kashmir issue should be raised with full force by Kashmiris living abroad, especially in Europe, to resolve the Kashmir issue and to draw the attention of the international community to the ongoing atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
Now that US President Donald Trump has offered to mediate on the Kashmir issue several times, we should take advantage of this offer and now whenever there are talks on the Kashmir issue, the Kashmiri people should also be seated at the negotiating table so that a comprehensive and lasting solution to the Kashmir issue is found, President stated.
The key to peace in South Asia lies in the resolution of the Kashmir issue. India has started committing human rights violations on a large scale in occupied Kashmir since August 5, 2019.
It wants to change the demography of occupied Kashmir and devour occupied Kashmir. In such a situation, it will be necessary to highlight the Kashmir issue on the global level and convince the world that the Kashmiri people will not sit idly by until they are free from India’s oppressive and usurping occupation of occupied Kashmir.
US President Donald Trump’s offer of mediation to resolve the Kashmir issue is very welcome. A permanent solution to the Kashmir issue lies only in negotiations, but the real party to the Kashmir issue, the Kashmiri people, should also be seated at the negotiating table because the real and important party to the Kashmir issue is the Kashmiri people.
In such a situation, Kashmiris living all over the world should unite and agree and convey the case of Kashmiris to the international community.
These views were expressed by President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, in a detailed meeting with President Kashmir Peace Forum International Europe, Zahid Hashmi, at the President’s Kashmir House today.
On this occasion, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry further said that this is a great time when US President Donald Trump has offered to play the role of mediator on the Kashmir issue and we should take advantage of this offer of mediation so that positive progress can be made in resolving the Kashmir issue.
On this occasion, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry said that the international community should play its role in giving Kashmiris the right to self-determination as per the UN resolutions.
Kashmiris have been sacrificing their lives for decades and are fighting against Indian oppression. The real reason for the tension between Pakistan and India is the Kashmir issue.
Both Pakistan and India are nuclear powers, and any small or big incident between the two can be a prelude to a big war that can engulf the peace of not only South Asia but also the entire world.
The international community should bear in mind that the key to peace in South Asia lies in the resolution of the Kashmir issue, and the real and important party to the Kashmir issue is the Kashmiri people, and they should be included in the talks so that a lasting solution to the Kashmir issue can be found.
President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry further said that Kashmiris living in Europe and France should raise their voice strongly for the ongoing Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and the resolution of the Kashmir issue and draw the world’s attention to the Kashmir issue to give the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination per the UN resolutions.
On this occasion, issues of mutual interest, including other matters, were discussed between Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry and Kashmir Peace Forum International Europe President Zahid Hashmi.
Kashmir Peace Forum International Europe President Zahid Hashmi extended an invitation to Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry to visit France, which was accepted by Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry and said that he would visit Europe soon.
