ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Yasin, on Friday said that his party will table the no-confidence motion against AJK Prime Minister Anwarul Haq in the next 48 hours.
Talking with the journalists after the Parliamentary Party meeting in Islamabad, he said that the PPP has managed to secure a simple majority to move a no-confidence motion.
He made these remarks after the meeting of PPP’s AJK Parliamentary Party, chaired by party chairman Bilawal Bhutto, at Zardari House in Islamabad.
On the reporter’s question, he answered that 27 lawmakers are already sitting inside, referring to the meeting, and with the help of PML-N members, we will cross 40 memebers mark during the in-house change.
“Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has bluntly announced the formation of the PPP government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir,” Yasin said.
“The party chairman has said that he will oversee the first two months of the newly formed government in Azad Kashmir personally,” he stated.
His remarks came after Bilawal Bhutto Zardari claimed that his party is now in a position to form and take charge of the government in Azad Kashmir.
Addressing the media after the AJK Parliamentary Party meeting, Bhutto claimed that the PPP had won the last AJK elections, despite facing a wide range of challenges.
However, the PPP’s victory in AJK was turned into a defeat, he said, adding that despite the loss, the PPP continued to represent the people everywhere.
Upon answering a question about the nominee’s name, the former foreign minister said, “Don’t worry, announcement of the Prime Minister in Azad Kashmir will be made from Kashmir, not Islamabad.”
Furthermore, he added that the remaining term of the AJK government “will be a test for the PPP”. The problems are political, and the solution to them lies with the PPP, he claimed.
