ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has secured a simple majority with the support of its members to bring its own candidate as Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
According to sources, the PPP, under the leadership of Faryal Talpur, is finalizing the steps to form a government.
A decision on possible government formation is expected today or tomorrow.
Faryal Talpur has organized a dinner for members tonight at Sindh House, Islamabad, in which members of the PPP parliamentary party, the Muhajireen seats, and the Barrister Sultan group will participate.
Earlier, five ministers from the Barriester Group joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and assured to support the party’s candidate for the Prime Minister election.
According to the details, the in-charge of political affairs of the PPP Azad Kashmir, Ms. Faryal Talpur, was met by ministers from the Barrister Sultan Group, Yasir Sultan, Chaudhry Arshad, Chaudhry Rashid, Chaudhry Akhlaq, and Sardar Muhammad Hussain, and announced to join the party.
Senior PPP leader Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz was also present on the occasion. Ms. Faryal Talpur warmly welcomed the newcomers to the PPP and expressed confidence that their joining would further strengthen the party’s position in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
She said that the PPP has always been the true representative of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
