ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In a massive political gain ahead of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) general elections, the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has welcomed prominent politicians associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The statement issued by the party stated that former PPP candidate from Kotli-III constituency LA-10, Malik Muhammad Yousaf, and former PML-N candidate from Kotli-I constituency LA-10, Malik Zulfiqar Ali Malik, have formally joined the party.
On this occasion, Muslim League leaders Malik Muhammad Ilyas Chaudhry, Amir Qabil, Malik Nizam Iqbal Minhas, Malik Muhammad Mushtaq, and Malik Sarmad Ali were present.
Other politicians, including Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, Majid Malik Advocate, Malik Khalid Mahmood, and former President of the Teachers’ Association, Hafiz Kazim Malik, were also present.
The party president, Abdul Aleem Khan, and additional secretary Muhammad Aun Saqlain Chaudhry welcomed the leaders and candidates to join the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party.

Speaking on the occasion, Aleem Khan said that the problems of Azad Kashmir will be solved permanently, deprivations will be eliminated, and better infrastructure will create employment opportunities.
The IPP will participate fully in the upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir, he said.
Earlier, former Prime Minister of AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas also parted ways with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) after differences with the party over the distribution of tickets, sources said.
As per reports, Tanveer Ilyas was seeking tickets from four constituencies, including Central Bagh and Upper Neelum.
However, after PPP decided to issue a ticket to Sardar Zia Al-Qamar from the Central Bagh, Ilyas has decided to join and contest the election on the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) ticket, sources stated.
Sources further said he has sent his resignation to Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Moreover, AJK government minister and Tanveer Ilyas’s aide, Chaudhry Ali Shan Soni, has also resigned from the PPP and the ministry.
