PPP AJK parliamentary committee meets in Karachi, reviews current political situation

KARACHI (Kashmir English): An important meeting of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Kashmir Parliamentary Committee was held at Zardari House in Karachi, under the chairmanship of Faryal Talpur on Friday.

According to the official statement, all members of the parliamentary committee attended the meeting, while former Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf and senior party leader Qamar Zaman Kaira attended on special invitation.

At the outset of the meeting, a tribute was paid to the successful struggle of the Pakistan Army against terrorism, Khawarij, and anti-state elements in the country.

The participants paid tribute to the great sacrifices of the martyrs and prayed for their elevation, and termed the menace of terrorism as a serious threat to national security.

The meeting expressed the determination that the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Azad Kashmir stands by the side of the Pakistan Army, and all possible cooperation will be continued for the security and stability of the country.

In the meeting, Raja Pervez Ashraf and Qamar Zaman Kaira gave a detailed briefing on the recent negotiations between the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) and the federal government committee.

The members of the meeting carefully reviewed the briefing and emphasized that the agreed agreement should be implemented quickly and completely.

The meeting stressed the need to take all possible steps for the welfare of the people of Azad Kashmir, expressed deep sorrow and regret over the loss of lives during the recent movement, and offered Fateha for the repose of the souls of the martyrs.

The meeting unanimously said that the solution of political issues is always possible through negotiations. Keeping in mind the requirements of democracy, political stability, and public interest, all parties were urged to fulfill their constitutional and political responsibilities.

Finally, the meeting gave full authority to the party leadership after detailed deliberation on the current situation, and the party will stand with it in solidarity with whatever decision it takes in the context of the current situation, the statement said.

The meeting was attended by PPP Azad Jammu and Kashmir members Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Sardar Javed Ayub, Mian Abdul Waheed, Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, Aamir Ghaffar Lone, Bazal Naqvi, Chaudhry Rafiq Nayyar, Aamir Yasin, Nabila Ayub, Javed Butt and Ahmed Sagheer. Senior leader Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz was also present in the meeting.
