MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The local police have arrested an official of the Electricity Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) over theft allegations.
According to details, the police arrested lineman Imran who was allegedly found involved in stealing equipment worth millions of rupees from the department.
The SDO, along with the police, recovered the stolen goods in a raid.

Lineman Imran had set up a store in a plaza on Thothal Road, Mirpur, where stolen electricity wires and meters were kept and sold.
SDO Electricity Department Adeel Akram Mughal along with local police raided the place and caught an accomplice Waqas red-handed, while the main culprit could not be apprehended.
General public and social circles have expressed satisfaction with the action taken by the Electricity Department and SHO Thothal Police Station.
SDO Adeel Akram Mughal stated that Imran’s movements had been suspicious for the past few days, and they had been keeping a close watch on him.
Details regarding how much equipment the accused stole and since when he had been stealing were not available immediately.
