POONCH(Kashmir English): Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Engineer Amir Muqam, has said people living along the Line of Control (LoC) in Azad and Jammu Kashmir (AJK) are the real heroes of Pakistan.
He made these remarks during his visit to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot, where he met the victims injured in the firing by the Indian Army on the Line of Control. On this occasion, he presented bouquets to the victims and expressed his heartfelt sympathy.
“I have come to Rawalakot to visit the injured on the special instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The people living along the Line of Control are our real heroes, who are facing the enemy with open arms,” Amir Muqam said.
On this occasion, the federal minister said the courage and bravery with which the Pakistan Army responded to the enemy have forced Indian PM Modi to think and forced him to de-escalate the war which he initiated.
Muqam said the spirit of the Pakistani nation was high, “We stand with our Kashmiri brethren as one nation, one voice. India could not break the morale of the Kashmiris with cruelty and barbarity,” he further elaborated.
The minister added that he had come to assure the Kashmiri people that their support was not just verbal but practical, and Pakistan would continue to provide full political, moral, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris.
“We want a peaceful solution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue. The doors of negotiations are always open,” the PML-N KP chief said.
He said the role of local civil institutions was commendable, hospital facilities would be further improved in the coming months.
On this occasion, PML-N leaders Dr. Najeeb Naqi Khan, Iftikhar Gilani, Sardar Tahir Anwar, Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi, Sardar Ijaz Yousuf, and Raja Fateh Muhammad Kayani were also present.
Furthermore, the federal minister Muqam also visited Tehsil Hajira in Poonch district to express solidarity with the families and victims of those martyred in Indian firing, on the special instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the minister said in a statement on his Facebook account.
On this occasion, the Federal Minister also met the families of the martyrs. He also addressed a solidarity gathering with the martyrs and victims in Hajira and paid rich tributes to the martyrs and their families.
The minister also expressed condolences on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the federal government.
Addressing the gathering, he said that the Prime Minister had announced a compensation of one crore rupees to each family of the martyrs.
He also said that the destroyed houses would be reconstructed and each injured person would be given compensation of Rs1 million to Rs2 million.
He praised the people of Azad Kashmir, saying that they are the protectors of the entire Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, while leaving Rawalakot, the federal minister was warmly welcomed at Khai Gala and Hajira Bazaar.
