GILGIT (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s famous young mountaineer Shah Daulat Shamshali died in a tragic accident while ice climbing in Khyber Gojal area of Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to sources, Shah Daulat Shamshali fell into a deep gorge due to slipping during the expedition and lost his life on the spot.
Shah Daulat was counted among the talented and fearless mountaineers of Pakistan, who made a name for himself on the international stage by scaling the world’s most difficult eight thousand meter peaks in a short time.
He scaled four high peaks including K2, Nanga Parbat and Gasher Brim II, while scaling Nanga Parbat and Gasher Brim I without additional oxygen was an extraordinary honor for him.
The late Shah Daulat was also the founder of Summit Experts Adventure Tours and was playing an active role in attracting youth towards mountaineering and adventure tourism, while his burial will be held in his native village of Shamshal Hunza.
Former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, along with political and social leaders and mountaineers, have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of renowned young mountaineer Shah Daulat Shamshali, saying that the death of Shah Daulat Shamshali is an irreparable loss not only for Gilgit-Baltistan but also for the entire Pakistan.
It should be remembered that mountaineers usually lose their lives due to accidents on the peaks of Gilgit-Baltistan, and many foreign mountaineers have also lost their lives on these mountains.
