DUBAI (Kashmir English): Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 by defeating Hong Kong by 72 runs.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 143 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, the entire Hong Kong team was bowled out for 71 runs in 19 overs.

Nashra Sindhu’s brilliant bowling played a major role in Pakistan’s victory, as she took 6 wickets for just 7 runs and was declared the Player of the Match.

Shawal Zulfiqar top-scored for Pakistan with 47 runs, hitting 6 fours off 35 balls.

Ayesha Zafar scored 26 runs off 19 balls, while captain Fatima Sana remained unbeaten on 24 runs, Toba Hassan scored 14 and Nashra Sindhu scored 3 runs.

Chasing a target of 144 runs, the Hong Kong team looked helpless in front of the Pakistani bowlers, with Kari Chan standing out with 30 runs, while Yasmin Daswani scored 13 runs.

The other batters could not put up much resistance and the entire team was bowled out for 71 runs.

Nashra Sindhu took 6 wickets for just 7 runs in 4 overs, while Fatima Sana, Sadia Iqbal and Um-e-Hani also took one wicket each.

It should be noted that the Pakistan Women’s team defeated Thailand in the first match of the Asia Cup, while in the second match, arch-rivals India defeated the national team by 7 wickets.
