ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s security agencies have arrested three individuals involved in espionage for the Indian intelligence agency RAW, said sources on Monday.
The accused belong to Narowal, Bahawalpur, and District Neelum, Azad Kashmir.
The arrested individuals have confessed that they were lured with women and money on specific social media apps to gain access to sensitive information, the sources added.
Funds were transferred to the accused through EasyPaisa, crypto wallets, and bank accounts.
During interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed that they were in constant contact with women associated with the Indian intelligence agency RAW through social media.
Pakistan Official Secrets Act
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Official Secrets Act, and after legal proceedings, sentences have been pronounced.
According to defence experts, India is using innocent citizens for nefarious purposes through lures of money and honey-trapping activities.
Previously, evidence of serving Indian officers engaging in espionage and accessing sensitive information in Pakistan has also come to light.
The public needs to be extremely cautious of the tactics of enemy intelligence agencies when using social media, defence experts have warned.
