MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly has taken strict notice of the alleged irregularities and lawlessness in the Mirpur Development Authority (MDA) and issued orders for a special and forensic audit.

In a meeting chaired by Chairman Abdul Majid Khan, a two-member committee comprising Secretary PPH and Chairman MDA was formed to investigate the MDA allotments, the Jinnah Model Town case, and other matters.

The committee will submit a report within a month.

The PAC ordered immediate steps to resolve 38 audit objections related to MDA’s income, collect rents of shops at Quaid-e-Azam Stadium, investigate the allotment of farmhouses and commercial plots, and recover outstanding dues.

The meeting revealed that 803 MDA cases are pending in different courts, while more than Rs 2 billion is recoverable.
