MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has started under the Speaker of the Assembly, Chaudhry Latif Akbar.
Chaudhry Qasim Majeed presented a no-confidence motion against Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq in the AJK Assembly session.
Chaudhry Qasim presented the name of Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, MLA, as the alternate leader of the house.
Opposition members Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi and Khawaja Farooq Ahmed reached the house.
Prayers were offered for the martyrs of the Tatta Pani bomb blast and the Islamabad bomb blast in the House.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq Address
Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, in his speech, said that “How is it possible that only one person is responsible for the destruction of the constitution and administrative structure? Are my cabinet members not responsible for it?”
He said that “I am making this speech so that these things remain on record adding that “This House gave birth to me (as Prime Minister), why should I think of dissolving it?
He added that “Today I have come to thank all of them. I was told by this same House to dissolve the Assembly by February 15. If I wanted, I would have agreed to it.”
The outgoing Prime Minister added, “I was told that they are taking me in an armored vehicle. I said that I am a political activist. Why are you stopping me from going among my people? referring to the protest of JAAC.”
“If there had been a massacre here during the (Action Committee) movement, how would I have responded?
Alhamdulillah, today I am leaving here with a smile,” he noted.
He also said that “I also challenged Modi from here, and I called him a fitna Khawarij.”
The PM AJK noted that I have received full support of the bureaucracy in my tenure, although people said that I was strict with them.
He went on to say that ” I thank the judiciary, lawyers’ organizations, journalists of Azad Kashmir, adding that My best wishes are with Faisal Rathore. I have his indirect support.
