ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The authorities in Islamabad have implemented an entire shutdown of the Red Zone and Extended Red Zone, which began on April 22, 2026.

The high-security operation enables foreign diplomats to arrive at the ongoing critical negotiation process between the two nations. The Islamabad traffic plan for April 2026 will shut down the Expressway, which extends from Koral to Zero Point. Police will block traffic on Srinagar Highway multiple times during the day.

The major road closures necessitate that residents take different routes to their destinations because it will create lengthy traffic holdups. The federal capital now prohibits all heavy traffic from entering because authorities want to control traffic flow.

New Travel Advisory

The authorities require heavy vehicles to stay away from Islamabad during these times because they want to prevent traffic issues. The Islamabad traffic plan for April 2026 recommends that local residents use 9th Avenue through Margalla Road to access their G-5, G-6, G-7, F-6, and F-7 areas.

Faisal Avenue traffic will be redirected to 9th Avenue at Zero Point. The closure of Club Road will require drivers to use Park Road for access to Taramri Chowk. The authorities have provided detour routes for drivers who find themselves in areas affected by major road closures.

The drivers should use Srinagar Highway to 9th Avenue, which leads to Stadium Road and Murree Road when Koral Chowk from Zero Point is closed.

The security lockdown requires substantial police manpower to establish a completely secure area for the delegates. Travelers need to obtain current information through official traffic police channels. The enforcement of strict regulations results in these security measures.
