ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an updated procedure for obtaining digital identity cards through its PakID mobile application, allowing citizens to access and manage digital identity documents through their accounts.

According to a NADRA statement, citizens can apply for a digital identity card by logging into the PakID app and selecting the “Digital ID” option. Applications will be processed according to the applicant’s verified profile.

NADRA said the digital identity card will be available in the app’s ID Vault, while identity and biometric verification requirements must be fulfilled.

With version 5.8.0 of the PakID app, citizens can also obtain, save, and share digital identity cards for their spouses and eligible children, according to the authority.

The updated app also includes a QR code scanning feature that allows users to verify information on documents such as B-Forms and CNIC cancellation certificates by selecting the “Scan QR Code” option.

NADRA further said the app facilitates biometric verification for influenza and meningitis vaccinations required for Hajj or Umrah.
