MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (PMLN) President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will undertake an important two-day visit to Azad Kashmir next week.
Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to arrive in Muzaffarabad on February 23. Details of his engagements during the visit have also emerged.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will accompany him during the trip. The PML-N president is expected to hold key meetings with party leadership and workers in Azad Kashmir.
During his visit, Nawaz Sharif will meet party leaders including President PML-N Azad Kashmir Shah Ghulam Qadir and parliamentary leader Raja Farooq Haider Khan.
According to sources, during Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Azad Kashmir, he will consult with party leaders on the current political situation, organizational matters and the strategy for the upcoming elections.
Meetings are also expected with candidates who have submitted ticket applications for the general elections of Azad Kashmir. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam confirmed PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Muzaffarabad.
The formal start of the election preparations of the PML-N is also expected during Nawaz Sharif’s visit. According to sources, the PML-N leader will issue important instructions to the party leaders regarding the future course of action.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam, Rana Sanaullah and other central party officials will also accompany Nawaz Sharif on his visit to Muzaffarabad.
The party leadership of Azad Kashmir will brief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif regarding all the constituencies of Azad Kashmir. The tickets of some constituencies of Azad Kashmir will also be finalized during Nawaz Sharif’s visit.
