Motorway Police issues travel advisory as Eid holidays end

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) has issued a travel advisory for the safety of the road-users as Eid holidays ended on Monday.

It said at the end of Eid holidays, traffic flow on motorways and highways is likely to increase, urging caution for the drivers.
The advisory urged the road-users to take precautionary measures to make journey safe and comfortable.

The travel advisory states:

Before starting your journey, check your vehicle’s engine oil, water, tire pressure, and brakes.

While driving, use your seatbelt, observe speed limits, maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and stay in your lane.

Before a long journey, it is essential for the driver to be fully rested and to take a break after two to two and a half hours of driving. Never drive if you are sleepy or drowsy.

Passengers traveling in passenger vehicles can complain about overloading and overcharging to Motorway Police Helpline 130.

For any assistance, Motorway Police Helpline 130 can be contacted, according to a Spokesperson of National Highways & Motorway Police.

It further said that National Highways & Motorway Police is always ready to assist people and ensure safe journey.
