Mirpur Police arrest six drug dealers, recover narcotics, liquor

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The Mirpur Police have taken decisive action against drug dealers, arresting five individuals, including a woman, and recovering a significant quantity of narcotics and liquor.

Police said in a statement that the operation was conducted in compliance with the orders of SSP Mirpur Khawar Ali Shaukat to tighten the noose around drug peddlers.

In two separate operations, the police recovered a total of 01 kg and 220 grams of hashish and garda, respectively, and 72 bottles of alcohol.

In the first, Superintendent of Police Dadyal, Rashid Habib, conducted operations in various areas, including Bhalot, Ara Jatan, and Dangal, to crack down on drug dealers.

During the raids, drug dealers Ahsan Ijaz, Shahzeb, and Haseeb Rashid were arrested, and 24 bottles of alcohol were recovered from them along with narcotics. The police have registered cases and started the investigation.

In another engagement, SP Mangla, along with his personnel, checked a car on Main Mangla Road. During the search, 48 bottles of high-quality liquor were recovered from the car trunk, with two accused detained.

A case was registered against both the accused, while the vehicle was also seized and parked in the police station premises.

SSP Mirpur, Khawar Ali Shaukat, has instructed the police to further intensify operations against drug peddlers. The SSP has appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity to Madagaar 15 or the local police station.
