LAHORE (Kashmir English): Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have been disqualified from participating in domestic cricket.
According to media reports, Rizwan and Imam will not play in the President’s Trophy Grade-I because they failed to undergo the mandatory fitness tests required by their respective departmental teams.
The PCB has made it compulsory for teams to conduct fitness tests and submit reports before players can participate in first-class cricket.
Reports state that neither cricketer has a fitness report on record with their department; consequently, due to the absence of these tests and reports, they are ineligible for domestic cricket.
Mohammad Rizwan serves as the vice-captain of the Sui Northern Gas team and was set to lead the side in the absence of captain Shan Masood during the first round.
Sui Northern Gas is scheduled to play its opening match against State Bank starting tomorrow. Imam-ul-Haq is the captain of the OGDC team, which is also scheduled to face PTV starting tomorrow.
It is worth noting that both players were recalled home from the tour of England, and investigations regarding both are currently underway.
