Missing NCCIA officer was probing Ducky Bhai case, IHC told

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Deputy Director Muhammad Usman, who was abducted ten days ago, was investigating important cases, including YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman Ducky Bhai’s, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) was informed on Friday.

During the hearing of a plea filed in the IHC seeking Usman’s recovery, Justice Muhammad Azam Khan gave the police a one-week extension to recover the officer after a three-day ultimatum ends. Muhammad Usaman was abducted on October 14.

The court directed the police to examine the officer’s WhatsApp data to trace and recover him and fixed the next hearing for October 31.

During the hearing, Islamabad Police DSP Legal Sajid Cheema told the court that the other members of the NCCIA official’s team investigating the Ducky Bhai case involving the promotion of online gambling apps have also disappeared.

Earlier during the October 20 hearing, the lawyer representing the missing officer’s wife, Rozina Usman, who had filed a petition, informed the court that she had also disappeared after filing the petition. Advocate Rizwan said that Rozina disappeared soon after approaching the court.

Advocate informed the court that Rozina received a threatening call before disappearing, warning her to withdraw her petition.

In her complaint, she reported that her husband was taken away by four unidentified armed men on October 14. Rozina stated that the incident took place at around 7:30 pm when the armed men arrived in a white car and abducted her husband at gunpoint.

Hearing the case for the first time on October 20, Justice Khan said that the Islamabad IG and the NCCIA’s Central officers should appear before the court in person if the police were unable to recover him within three days.
