Mirpur traders announce disassociation from banned JAAC

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Representatives of the business community in Mirpur have announced their dissociation from the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) during a press conference held at the Kashmir Press Club.

Addressing the media, traders’ representatives, including Azmat Khan, said they represent the business community and support peace, stability and public welfare in the region.

The speakers added that the activities of the banned JAAC are against the national interests and that it is working on “India’s agenda”.*

They said that the committee was established with the motive of addressing public issues and rights, but it had strayed from its objectives and was working on issues that were not of direct concern to the public.

As per the traders, some of the actions of the committee had created a lot of confusion amongst the people of the public and the business community.

They condemned the policies and activities of the banned JAAC and said that they have totally dissociated themselves from it.

During the press conference, the traders expressed their determination that they stand with Pakistan and the Pakistani Armed Forces and will not support any move that would negatively impact the peace or business activities of the region.

He clarified that all the markets of Mirpur are open as usual and business activities are continuing.
