MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mirpur Raja Zahid, on the directions of Chief Officer Municipal Corporation, has completely banned the sale/purchase of cattle on roadsides or in neighborhoods in the city, except for the approved cattle market locations.

For the convenience of the public, the Municipal Corporation has allowed the contractor to establish the approved cattle market at Thothal Bun Road for two weeks, according to the terms of the contract.

The authorities noticed that different sale points for sacrificial animals have started appearing at various locations within the municipal limits.

The sale of animals in the city creates problems of filth and traffic congestion.

According to the order, no person shall buy or sell animals brought for sacrifice outside the approved cattle markets/locations, in streets, neighbourhoods, highways, or other open spaces.

“If any person is found violating this ban, action will be taken against them under Section 188 APC. This ban will remain in force from the date of issuance until the end of Eid al-Adha.”
