ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) is monitoring social media platforms for suspected illegal online activities, warning users that certain posts and actions could result in legal consequences.

According to reports, the agency is focusing on three key areas during its cyber patrolling operations: anti-state content, online harassment and illegal call centres, while also addressing online scams and financial fraud.

1. Anti-State Content on Social Media

The NCCIA is monitoring social media posts, messages and online campaigns suspected of involving unlawful content targeting the state or national interests.

Users are advised to verify information before sharing it and avoid spreading false or misleading claims that could violate applicable laws.

2. Online Harassment and Defamation

Online harassment, cyberbullying, blackmail, and attempts to damage an individual’s reputation are also among the agency’s areas of focus.

Creating fake profiles to target others, sharing private photographs without consent, and using social media to threaten or harass individuals may lead to legal action under applicable cybercrime laws.

3. Illegal Call Centres and Online Financial Fraud
