NEW YORK (Kashmir English):France captain Kylian Mbappe added another milestone to his glittering career by winning the Golden Boot at the FIFA World Cup 2026 after finishing as the tournament’s top scorer.
In the FIFA World Cup final, Argentina’s Lionel Messi could not increase his goal tally, after which Mbappe became the top scorer of the tournament with 10 goals.
Lionel Messi scored a total of 8 goals in the World Cup, while England’s Jude Bellingham and Norway’s Erling Haaland were in joint third place with 7 goals each.
27-year-old Real Madrid star forward Mbappe won the World Cup Golden Boot for the second consecutive time. He had previously won the award at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, although France lost in the final that time.
Mbappe took his tally to 10 with two goals in England’s 6-4 victory in the third-place match, becoming the highest scorer in World Cup history.
The French superstar has scored 22 goals in just three World Cups, one more than Lionel Messi’s 21.
