LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released the preliminary schedule and the framework for player selection and auctions for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
PSL 12 is set to commence on March 18, 2027, with the final scheduled for May 2. The tournament will feature 44 matches, spread over 46 days, across 5 to 6 different venues.
According to an announcement by the PCB, the phase for direct player signings by all eight PSL 12 franchises begins today, October 23, and will continue until November 23, 2026.
Each franchise is permitted to sign one prominent player directly, specifically someone who did not participate in the 10th or 11th editions of the PSL.
The player auction for PSL 12 will take place on January 23, 2027. The tournament will consist of a total of 44 matches, comprising 40 league-stage games and 4 playoff encounters.
The PCB has confirmed that the window for direct signings opened today, October 23, 2026, with November 23 set as the deadline to finalize these agreements.
A cricket workshop for the PSL will be held next week, during which key details, including the deadline for player retention, the pre-auction trade window, auction rules, and the playing conditions, will be finalized.
To bring new cricketing talent to the fore, the Pakistan Cricket Board has formally integrated the domestic competition schedule with the activities leading up to the PSL season.
Under this decision, the ‘National T20 Gold’ and ‘National T20 Silver’ tournaments will serve as primary platforms for identifying and selecting new players ahead of the PSL 12 auction.
Players who deliver standout performances in these tournaments will be provided with a clear opportunity to transition from domestic cricket to the PSL and, subsequently, to be considered for the national team.
