KABUL (Kashmir English): Reports of growing activities by armed resistance groups against the Taliban government have emerged in Afghanistan, amid claims of increasing public discontent over restrictions on civil liberties, economic hardships and the Taliban’s governance.
According to reports, Afghan citizens have also launched a social media campaign expressing opposition to the Taliban regime, with some posts calling for resistance against the government.
The reports claim that sections of the Afghan population are increasingly frustrated with restrictions on fundamental freedoms and what they describe as harsh policies under Taliban rule.

Some accounts have also alleged that individuals are turning towards armed resistance.
The reported developments could pose an additional challenge to the Taliban authorities if resistance activities continue to expand. However, the scale and extent of the alleged movement could not be independently verified.
Earlier, reports by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) highlighted continuing concerns over restrictions on fundamental rights in the country.
According to the claims cited in the reports, Afghan women continue to face severe restrictions on education, employment and freedom of movement. Women in several provinces have also reportedly faced restrictions on accessing certain services without a male guardian.
