Afghan Taliban target Pakistani border posts in unprovoked firing

PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): Afghan Taliban resorted to unprovoked firing on Pakistani border posts in Kurram Sector, said security sources on Sunday.

Pakistan security forces also vigorously attacked Afghan Taliban which silenced enemy’s artillery.

Sources said Afghan Taliban targeted Pakistani border posts in Kurram Sector with heavy weapons, mortars, and other arms without provocation.

Pakistani security forces, responding with immediate, effective, and vigorous counter-action, targeted several Afghan Taliban border posts, mortar positions, and defensive outposts with small and large weapons including artillery, security sources said.

Pakistani forces maintained full control over the border areas and gave a strong response to the enemy’s aggression.

As a result of the intense counter-action, Afghan Taliban were forced to flee leaving several posts.

The border situation is being continuously monitored, forces are fully prepared and alert to give an immediate and decisive response to any provocation by the enemy, sources added.
