LAHORE (Kashmir English): Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, announced that the provincial laptop scheme will now provide laptops to students who attend private universities, which represents a significant advancement for digital educational access to all students.
The chief minister declared that education should be treated as a fundamental human right during his speech for the International Day of Education, while he confirmed the government’s dedication to assisting all students who study in public and private educational institutions.
The scheme started as a program that distributed free laptops to students at public universities, but now students at private universities who achieve 65% or higher marks can also receive free laptops through the program.
The initiative works to boost digital access, create better educational options, and enhance student academic performance across all higher education institutions in Punjab. Students who meet the requirements can submit their applications through the official website at cmlaptophed.punjab.gov.pk.
The application system functions as a straightforward method that enables more students to utilize the program because it does not require them to overcome administrative obstacles.
Punjab directs its efforts toward closing the technology gap while it develops programs that enable students to succeed in academic settings that become more dependent on technology.
