Katie Zacharia reportedly selected as next White House Press Secretary

WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): Conservative commentator Katie Zacharia has reportedly been selected as the next White House Press Secretary, according to a report by The New York Times.

Zacharia is expected to replace Karoline Leavitt, who reportedly resigned from the position in August.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Katie Zacharia currently serves as a communications adviser to Trump Media & Technology Group, the company behind the social media platform Truth Social.

She previously worked briefly as a spokesperson for then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem at the US Department of Homeland Security. She has also appeared frequently as a guest on conservative media outlets.

Based in California,  Zacharia has worked with Fix California, a nonprofit organisation founded by Trump ally Ric Grenell, to advance conservative political priorities in the state.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was visiting the United States to attend the UN General Assembly session, an event marked by various activities involving world leaders.

US President Donald Trump hosted a reception for world leaders during the UN General Assembly session, which Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also attended.

It was during this event that the meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and US President Donald Trump took place.

The White House has confirmed the meeting between the two leaders by releasing photographs capturing the encounter.
