West Indies chase down 250 to defeat India in second T20

RANCHI (Kashmir English):  In the second match of the T20 series, West Indies defeated India by six wickets, successfully chasing down a target of 250 runs. 

With this victory, the three-match series is now level at 1-1.

In the match played in Ranchi, West Indies achieved the 250-run target in the 19th over for the loss of four wickets.

For West Indies, captain Shai Hope played a blistering, unbeaten innings of 102 runs. Sherfane Rutherford scored 84, Rovman Powell 24, Kamil Pooran 4, and Shimron Hetmyer were the other batsmen to lose their wickets.

Romario Shepherd remained not out on 34 runs.

Earlier, invited to bat first by West Indies, India scored 249 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Sanju Samson was the top scorer for India with 82 runs. Among the other batsmen, Ishan Kishan (43), captain Shreyas Iyer (40), Abhishek Sharma (20), and Shivam Dube (7) were dismissed.

Tilak Varma (44) and Naman Dhir (4) remained not out.

For the visiting team, Roston Chase claimed three wickets, while Shamar Springer took two.

It is worth noting that this is only the second time in the history of international T20 cricket that a target of 250 runs has been successfully chased; previously, South Africa had chased down a target of 259 runs against West Indies.
