BAGH (Kashmir English): Famous Kashmiri poet and journalist Ahmad Farhad has been arrested from Bagh under Section 16 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
According to sources, the arrest was made when he was covering a sit-in by the proscribed Joitn Awami Action Committee (JAAC).
Sources said that Farhad had obtained interim bail in various cases and was also on interim bail at the time of his arrest. After his arrest, there have been reports that he was shifted to an unknown location.
On the other hand, sources claim that modern weapons were also recovered from his possession.
Further investigation is underway regarding the recovered weapons and the relevant agencies are examining various aspects.
According to authorities, legal action is underway, and more details will be revealed after the investigation is completed.
