MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The AJK President has appointed Justice Sardar Liaqat Hussain as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
This appointment follows the retirement of Chief Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja.
The notification issued by the Law and Justice Department stated that the appointment is made under Article 43-A of the Interim Constitution of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 1974.
The notification will take effect from the date Justice Sardar Liaquat Hussain takes the oath of office, it added.
Justice Sardar Liaquat Hussain is the senior-most judge of the High Court, making him eligible for the position.
