ROME (Kashmir English): Italy is set to create job opportunities for 10,500 Pakistani workers within the next three years through the labor mobility program, as stated by Marilina Armellin, the Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan, while celebrating Italy Day in Islamabad.

Addressing the ceremony on Tuesday, the Italian diplomat restated her country’s determination to foster close ties with Pakistan in different fields such as labor mobility, education, diplomacy, and economics.

According to her, the framework will allow many Pakistanis to get employment opportunities legally within the next three years and thereby strengthen the bond among individuals from the two nations.

Moreover, she highlighted that 3,200 scholarships have been granted to the citizens of Pakistan for the coming academic session, which will permit the recipients to study in Italian universities in 2025-26.

It shows that Pakistan and Italy share cordial relations as far as educational collaboration is concerned. The step will help Pakistani citizens pursue further studies and careers abroad.

As far as regional developments are concerned, the Italian ambassador expressed support for Pakistan’s role in encouraging dialogue and mediation between the United States and Iran.

Moreover, she stated that Italy is in complete support of Pakistan as a mediator, and Pakistan is a country known for friendship, hospitality, and mutual respect.

The comments were made at a dinner organized by the Italian Embassy on the occasion of the 80th Italy Day. The gathering was marked by the attendance of diplomats, representatives of the government, and members of the civil society who first recited the national anthem of both countries.

Meanwhile, Armellin also spoke of improving consular facilitation services for the citizens of Pakistan. She mentioned that Italy has the biggest community of Pakistanis in Europe, and maintaining close bilateral relations has been a top priority for her in the last few months.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Ali Pervaiz Malik informed that Pakistan and Italy are similar in their objectives and value systems and have enjoyed diplomatic relations for 78 years.

He was confident that Pakistan’s strategy with European countries would bring more Italian companies to invest in Pakistan.

The function ended with a cutting ceremony for the cake, signifying the strengthening of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
