ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Monday ordered the blocking of the passports of 24 MNAs and MPAs of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), including KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
ATC Judge Abul Hasanat Muhammad Zulqarnain issued the order, directing the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to block the passports until further orders.
Islamabad Police had requested the court to block the passports of the suspects in the Kohsar police station case.
According to the court order, the accused are named in the case and are facing serious charges, including attacks on state institutions and promotion of terrorism. The court also noted that the accused had failed to appear before it.
The court observed that those who had obtained interim bail had also not been included in the investigation so far.
Accepting the investigating officer’s request, the court directed the FIA to block the passports of the accused until further orders.
The court issued an order to block the passports of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Asad Qaiser, Shahram Tarakai, Shah Ahad, Sher Ali Arbab, Muhammad Iqbal Afridi, Dr. Amjad Ali, Junaid Akbar, Shahid Khattak, Zubair Wazir, Omar Ayub, Arshad Omarzai, Zar Alam, Mian Omar, Akhtar Khan, Humayun Khan, Riaz Khan, Abdul Kabir Khan, Tufail Anjum, Asif Mehsud, Ajab Gul, Muhammad Usman, Babar Saleem Swati, Irfan Saleem, Advocate Ali Zaman and Malik Shahab.
