BENGALURU (Kashmir English): The fifth and final T20 International between India and the West Indies was abandoned due to rain in Bengaluru, leaving the five-match series tied at 2-2.

The West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rain reduced the match to nine overs per side, but India’s innings was also cut short.

India scored 118 for five in 7.4 overs before the match was abandoned. Ishan Kishan top-scored with 30 off 10 balls, while Shreyas Iyer made 22 off 14 deliveries.

Naman Dhir remained unbeaten on 24 off just six balls, including three sixes. Sanju Samson contributed 16 off seven deliveries.

For the West Indies, Shamar Springer and Keemo Paul claimed two wickets each, while Shamar Joseph took one wicket.

India won the first T20 by eight wickets and the third by 14 runs. The West Indies bounced back to win the second match by six wickets and the fourth by 24 runs.

The final match was expected to decide the series winner. However, persistent rain denied both sides the opportunity to compete for the title.

The match also marked the return of Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar to international cricket after nearly four years. He had joined the squad as a replacement for Arshdeep Singh but could not make an impact due to the washout.
