NEW YORK (Kashmir English): WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to request someone’s location directly through a chat, making location sharing easier.
The feature, called “Request Location,” has appeared in the latest beta version of the messaging platform, according to a report by Android Authority.
The new option will reportedly be available on the “Send Location” screen, where users can already share their current or live location with others.
With this feature, users will be able to send a dedicated location request card instead of typing a message asking someone to share their location.
According to the report, recipients will be able to tap the request card and choose whether to share their current location or live location with the sender.
The feature is similar to an option available in Apple’s iMessage, which allows users to request another person’s location through the location menu.
However, development of the WhatsApp feature is still underway, and the company has not yet announced when it will become available to all users.
