ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced advanced tablet devices to provide registration and identification services directly to citizens in different areas.

According to NADRA officials, the tablets are manufactured in Pakistan and equipped with Pak-ID software. They allow officials to collect biometric information, including fingerprints, photographs and iris scans.

The devices will enable NADRA staff to provide services outside traditional registration centres, particularly in areas where large numbers of people require identification services.

Officials can also deploy the tablets to crowded Union Councils and other locations where citizens face long waiting times or have to travel to distant registration offices.

Under the system, NADRA can send an official equipped with a tablet to a location experiencing heavy demand, making registration services more accessible and convenient for residents.

The authority is gradually expanding the use of these devices to improve service delivery and reduce the burden on fixed registration centres.

The initiative aims to make identification services more accessible through mobile technology and advanced biometric facilities.
